Saturday, 8 May, was the first set of sporting fixtures for King Edward since the start of the pandemic. Suid-Natal graciously travelled to King Edward to play against us. Our u/16 hockey girls played spiritedly and drew 0-0. The u/16 rugby boys’ game was tough and KEHS lead for most of the game. Sadly, Suid-Natal got a try in the dying seconds of the match to snatch the victory. The full-time score was 15-12 for Suid-Natal. The first rugby match kicked off with incredible intensity as the KEHS boys were on fire and ready to play. KEHS lead the scoreboard for the entire game. Suid-Natal fought back valiantly in the second half but it was too little too late for the boys from the south. KEHS walked off the field with their heads high, winning the game 19-15.
Our First Team girls' Hockey game started very slowly, with both teams finding their feet and connecting with their teammates. KEHS managed to score 1 goal, winning 1-0.
We would like to thank Suid-Natal for traveling to us and for their great sportsmanship.
