U7 – U9 Boys’ & Girls’ Soccer vs KJS
On Tuesday, we hosted KJS for JP boys’ and girls’ soccer matches and fun was had by all. Our u/7 girls drew both games and the boys lost theirs. Our u/8 girls won 2-0 and 1-0 and the boys won 3-0 and drew 0-0. The u/9 girls drew both games, while our boys won 1-0 and 2-0.
1st Team Girls’ Soccer vs Bergview
Another exciting 1st team girls’ soccer fixture had spectators on their feet when KEHS put on a very dominant display against Bergview College on Thursday. The girls went from strength to strength with the final score being 6-0 in our favour.
U13 New Hanover Boys Hockey Day/Night Festival
Our u/13 boys participated in the New Hanover Day/Night Hockey Festival on Friday, 25 August, and played very well. We beat Bisley 1-0, Lynford 1-0, New Hanover 1-0 and lost to Underberg 1-2. We reached the semifinals where we beat Athlone 1-0. The finals saw us play against MCS who beat us 2-1 in a penalty shootout, which meant we came second out of the fifteen schools participating. Thank you to New Hanover for organizing such an enjoyable festival.
U9 – U11 New Hanover Boys Hockey Festival
Over the weekend, our u/9 and u/11 boys travelled to New Hanover to participate in their boys’ hockey festival. Our u/9 boys lost 0-5 to Lynford and 1-5 to New Hanover, but beat Wartburg 1-0 and Winterton 5-0. Our u/11 boys beat Winterton 1-0, drew 0-0 against New Hanover and lost to Wartburg and Ixopo 0-1.
SPAR 1st Netball Fast 5 Challenge
On Saturday, our 1st netball girls went to Kokstad to participate in the SPAR Fast 5 Challenge. The girls played incredibly well, winning 6 games out of 7. We beat Bergview 6-3, Mt Currie 9-3, KC 5-4, St Monica’s 8-7, St Patrick’s 10-5, St Thomas 7-2 and lost to Shayamoya 4-18. In the semifinals we played against St Monica’s and drew 7-7. Through goal differences we qualified to play in the finals.
We came second overall after losing 3-18 to the unbeaten champions, Shayamoya. Our players and coaches each won a R200 Spar voucher. Thank you to SPAR for sponsoring this event. Congratulations to Ayanda Nondabula who was selected to play in the KZN super league.
KEHS 1st Netball Team
