CRICKET
This past week has been one filled with quite a few cricket victories. On 25 January KEHS u/16 travelled away to St Patrick's for our first game of the season. St Patrick’s won the toss. KEHS batted first making 94 runs for the loss of 5 wickets after 20 overs. The best batsman was Tristan Phizacklea with 27 runs. KEHS then went into field, bowling St Patrick's all out for 47 runs. The best bowler was Kadin Kok who took 4 wickets for 20 runs. Well done to the team for a great win.
On the same day our First team boys played at home against St Patrick’s first team. It was tough game, with our boys winning narrowly by 12 runs. Stephan Terblanche was man of the match, and his teammates, Kholekile Bam and Benjamin Dickson played outstandingly. Well done to both teams on an excellent game.
KEHS u/11 travelled away to Kokstad Junior on 28 January. KJS won the toss and fielded first. KEHS’s batting went very well. We scored 119 runs for the loss of 3 wickets after 20 overs. The best batsman was Jon Holl with 36 runs. KEHS went into field with KJS scoring 96 runs for the loss of 8 wickets after 20 overs. The best bowler was Caleb Sweetnam with 3 wickets. KEHS won the match by 23 runs. Well done to our u11 boys.
Our u/13 Cricket team took on KJS on our home pitch and did the school proud. KJS scored 77 for 8 in 20 overs. King Edward passed this score in 13 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. Trevor Mkhathi was man of the match taking three wickets for 12 runs and scoring 25 runs. Advocate Matheza was 23 not out and Junior Bagah took 2/7 in 3 overs.
