KEHS First Cricket Team

The KEHS First Cricket Team have played three matches over the past few weeks. The first match was against St Patrick’s. It was played at King Edward Park on 25 January. KEHS won the toss and chose to bat. They scored 123 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs. In reply St Patrick’s could only score 115 for 7 in 20 overs, giving KEHS a victory by a slim 8 runs. In the second match played against Kokstad College on 30 January, KEHS played at Kokstad College Oval.

After a tough game, KEHS lost narrowly to Kokstad College by 2 wickets. Then on 9 February KEHS played their final match of the season against Creston College at the Creston College Oval in Port Shepstone. KEHS captain, Kholikile Bam won the toss and elected to field first. They bowled Creston College out for 58 runs. Benjamin Dickson and Justin Todd took 3 wickets each, while Kholikile Bam and Ntsikelelo Yekani took 2 wickets. In reply KEHS scored the 59 runs needed to win, without the loss of any wickets. Benjamin Dickson made 40 of the 59 runs! Thus ended the KEHS cricket team’s season on a winning note.
