Rugby - King Edward High School vs. St Monica’s
On 13 March KEHS played a few friendly matches against St Monica’s. With much needed rain in the district the fields on King Edward Park were soaked. Puddles, mud and wet grass awaited the rugby teams about to step on to the field. The conditions were perfect. The slippery conditions made the ball hard to control. Despite this, our boys displayed fantastic skills.
The u/13 team won 15:5.
The u/14 game was characterised by cracking tackles and storming runs. Spreading the ball wide, dominating the scrums and line-outs gave us the upper-hand over our opposition. We had lots of fun and secured a convincing victory of 29:0.
Our u/16 rugby team totally dominated the game, displaying considerable skills to win 42:0.
The first teams clashed grandly. The first half was dominated by a strong St Monica’s team. But come the second half the KEHS boys made a comeback. Sadly it was too late and St. Monica’s took a well-deserved win! Well done St Monica’s for an excellent game! The final score was 10:5.
