Mini Cricket
Our junior cricketers faced Focused on 5 March in a set of mini cricket fixtures. Our U7 side put in a determined performance, scoring 52–1 while restricting Focused to 32–2. It was a slow start and finish from our young players, but they held their composure well and secured the win.
Our U8 match proved more challenging. KEHS struggled to find their rhythm and were unable to take a wicket during the game, managing 37 runs. Focused scored 39 runs and claimed five wickets.

Our U9 team’s excellent bowling and fielding ensured that they dominated the match, scoring 88 for 2, while Focused managed 39 for 7.


KEHS KFC Mini Cricket Festival
The KEHS KFC Mini Cricket Festival, held on 7 March, was a great success. It was a wonderful day of cricket, with our young players enjoying valuable match experience and practising their developing skills.
Our U7 team produced strong performances in all their matches, defeating KPS 45–15, KJS1 36–17, KJS2 38–15.5 and SMDS 32–23.
In the U8 division, KEHS1 recorded a win against KJS1 (11.5–6.6) before narrowly losing to KPS (12.3–13). KEHS2 achieved a solid victory over KJS2 (11.6–4.4) but fell short against St Mary’s (3.1–6.3).
The U9 matches were equally competitive. KEHS1 secured wins against KJS1 (11–4.6) and KPS (27–7.2). KEHS2 defeated KJS2 convincingly (43–10) but were edged out by St Mary’s in a close contest (22–28.5).
HS Rugby & Netball
On Saturday, our high school rugby and netball teams travelled to play against Umtata for a competitive day of sport.
On the netball courts, our U16 team faced tough opposition and went down 14–4. Our 1st team, however, produced a confident display, defeating Umtata 12–4 with strong teamwork and accurate shooting.
On the rugby field, KEHS enjoyed an excellent outing. Our U14 team secured a well-earned 7–0 victory, while our U16 team recorded a convincing 31–0 victory. Our 1st team also impressed, finishing the day with a solid 12–5 win.
KZNCSSA Provincial Swimming
Eleven swimmers represented our school at the KZNCSSA Provincial Swimming event on 7 March. The competition provided excellent exposure and valuable experience for all those who participated.
A special congratulations goes to Qiana Haddon-Davies, who achieved outstanding results in the U9 girls’ events. She placed 4th in both the 25 m butterfly and 25 m freestyle, and finished 2nd in the 25 m backstroke.
Eastern Cape Primary Schools Athletics Championships
At the Eastern Cape Primary Schools Athletics Championships, Leah da Silva delivered an exceptional performance in the Girls U12 javelin event. She set a new provincial record with a throw of 26.89 m, surpassing the previous record of 26.37 m. This remarkable achievement is a testament to her dedication and hard work.
