KEHS Winter Sports Day and Red Meat Festival
This year’s King Edward High School Winter Sports Day was held on Saturday, 3 June, in collaboration with the Red Meat Festival. A great turnout of parents and supporters crowded around the hockey, netball and rugby fields. With the wonderful weather, great atmosphere, and delicious food, everyone had an enjoyable day of sport.
The KEHS sports results were as follows:
Rugby: The u7 A team won all 3 matches and the B team lost 1. The u8’s won 2 matches and lost 2. The u9’s won all 3 of their games. The u11 A team won their match and the B team lost theirs. The u13 team won their match.
Girls hockey: The u7 A team won 1 match and lost 2, and the B team won both their matches. The u8 A team won 3 matches, the B team won 3 matches, the C team won 2, and the D team lost 1. The u9 A team lost 2 matches, the B won 2, the C team won 1 match, and the A-B combined team lost 1 match. The u10 A team won 3 matches, the B team won 3 matches, the C team lost 2, and the D team won 1 match. The u11 A team won 3 matches, the B team won 1 and lost 1, and the C team drew both their matches. The u13 A team won all 3 of their matches and the B team drew 1 and lost 1 match.
The u13 netball team won their match.
The day culminated with adult 7-a-side hockey and netball matches, and a very entertaining music show by Pieter Naude, Ruan Josh and Franja du Plessis.
