Tuesday, 13 August, found many spectators and aspiring sprinters at the Street Race, sponsored by Hi-Q Matatiele and organized by Focused High School. King Edward High School athletes competed and achieved excellent results. In the boys’ race. Ethan Duminy ran a superb race, crossing the finish line first and winning the coveted prize money of R1000 while Ayaka Gceba finished in 6th position. In the girls’ race, Nicolate Willmott came second and received R500. She was followed by Amahle Moyo in 3rd place who received R250. Purity Chinzete was 4th, Tiffany Schonken 7th and Bocha Thipa 9th.
