Grade 5 Tour: A Fun-filled Educational Adventure

After their final exams, our Grade 5 learners embarked on an exciting tour to the north and south coasts, staying at ATKV Natalia from 24 to 28 November. Their action-packed itinerary included a thrilling zipline experience at Lake Eland, a suspension bridge walk, sightseeing, and a game drive where they saw wildlife up close. In Durban, they enjoyed a boat cruise and explored the Science Museum, which featured interactive exhibits. They also learned about sugar production at the South African Sugar Association and had an unforgettable time at uShaka Marine World, where they watched penguin and dolphin shows, and explored the aquarium. Ice skating and arcade games at the Fun Company gave the children a chance to unwind, and they rounded off the tour with a fun movie and a visit to Mac Banana’s, where they toured both an animal and a banana farm. Prefect Camp: Leadership in Action

From 24 to 26 November, our 2025 prefects headed to ATKV Drakensville for a leadership camp, designed to challenge and inspire them through a variety of team-building activities. Throughout the camp, they participated in exercises like the Spiders' Web, where they had to work together to get each other through a web of ropes, and the Blindman’s Trust, which tested their ability to rely on and guide one another while blindfolded. The prefects also went hiking through the beautiful surroundings, ziplining, tyre juggling, and crate moving; all of which helped build essential leadership skills such as communication, trust and teamwork. They also enjoyed fun activities and swimming, balancing the more intense challenges with moments of relaxation. These activities not only strengthened their leadership abilities but also fostered a sense of unity and camaraderie. The camp was a great opportunity for them to grow, and we are confident they will return ready to lead with confidence in the year ahead.
