Senior Primary School Prize-giving
Our Senior Primary Prize-giving, held on Wednesday 23 October, was a colourful and joyous occasion that recognised the hard work and dedication of our SP learners. The beautiful floral décor reflected this perfectly, with an array of bright blooms creating a cheerful and celebratory atmosphere. Awards were presented to learners who achieved the top three academic positions in each grade. In Grade 4, third place went to Esona Xhorile, second to Niki Enslin and first to Lakhiwe Mpengesi. In Grade 5, third place was awarded to Kungawo Mafunda, second to Sibabalo Zongola and first to Leah da Silva. The Grade 6 winners were Franco Marx in third, Taitum Naudé in second and David Abraham in first place. In Grade 7, Ezra Williams achieved third, Maruzé Needham took second and first place went to Lana Enslin.
Lana Enslin Dux 2025
The Dux Trophy for 2025 was awarded to Lana Enslin for her outstanding academic achievement. Recognition also went to our top sports performers whose commitment and skill stood out this year. Tamary Mandiwanzira and Maxine Peters were honoured for their excellence in girls' hockey, while Nkazimlo Nonjiji received the rugby award. Emihle Luphalule was acknowledged for her success in netball and Sibusiso Nkumbesi for cricket. Miyolo Mfenyana excelled in soccer and was also named Best Boy Sportsperson of the Year. Ntsika Hlaki was recognised for boys' hockey, Nkazimlo Nonjiji as Best Boy Athlete and Michelle Moyo as Best Girl Athlete. Ovayo Diko earned the award for Best Sporting Achievement and Tamary Mandiwanzira was named Best Girl Sportsperson. The James Freemantle Award for Good Fellowship was presented to Nkazimlo Nonjiji, who continues to lead with humility and respect.

Ovayo Diko Best Sporting Achievement
Another highlight of the event was the announcement of the 2026 monitors. The following learners were appointed: David Abraham, Lesedi Bolofo, Mveli Diko, Simon du Toit, Lolwam Duka, Lebo Erasmus, Troy Fuller, Sinelizwi Gcingca, Aphelele Gigaba, Precious Hlatuka, Onalenna Khuzwayo, Kayleigh King, Luhle Manci, Chuma Mlahlwa, Tahirah Moeketsi, Ovayo Mthwa, Taitum Naudé, Iminathi Ndamase, Douw Nel, Mivuyo Ngcaweni, Coleby Suddes, Arabela Telile and Devonté van Vollenhoven. Leadership positions were also announced, with Chloe Swartling appointed as Head Girl and Ovayo Diko as Deputy Head Girl, while the Head Boy for 2026 will be Franco Marx, assisted by Deputy Head Boy Azoma Mkolokotho. We congratulate them all and wish them every success in their new roles of responsibility.
The same day also brought exciting news from East London, where Yahya Khan won the Provincial Spelling Bee Competition. We are extremely proud of his achievement.

On Thursday 24 October, our Grade R Prize-giving was a heart-warming celebration of growth and accomplishment. Fifty-three young learners graduated from the pre-school, their faces beaming with pride as they received their certificates. Teachers and parents watched with joy, knowing that these confident, eager children are ready to begin their next chapter in Grade 1 next year.

Saturday 25 October saw creativity take centre stage at the Bruce Piper Monologue Competition, hosted by St Anne’s Diocesan College. Six of our learners competed, and they were treated to a day filled with passion, inspiration and outstanding performances. It was an unforgettable experience that encouraged imagination and expression.
Athletics achievements also brought great pride. On Friday 24 October, Leah da Silva took second place in shot put and first in turbo javelin at the G4GA Athletics event in Bethlehem, where she broke the turbo javelin record with an impressive throw of nine metres. The following day at the AVT Athletics event in Sasolburg, she continued her winning streak, earning gold in both shot put and turbo javelin. Her determination and talent are truly commendable and serve as an inspiration to her peers.
