KZN Youth and Juniors Championship
The KZN Youth and Juniors Championship was held at Kings Park in Durban on 9 to 10 March. Three of our High School athletes took part, and they brought home five medals. Ashwin Jood (u/19) came fourth in a close 100m with a time of 11.37, and third in the 200m with a time of 22.34. Both of these times were his personal best. Kayla Harris (u/17) took part in shotput, discus and javelin. She earned silver in the javelin and gold medals in both discus and shotput, with distances of 38.66m and 12.2m respectively. Sine Matam (u/17) took part in discus and shotput, finishing fifth in shotput and earning a silver medal in the discus with a distance of 34.34m.
Both Aaron and Kayla threw qualifying distances to take part in the ASA Youth and Junior Championships in April this year. Well done to all our athletes for their dedication, motivation, hard work and long hours spent on the field – your results have proved that it was all worth it! KEHS is very proud of all of you.
