Grade 2 excursion to Mr Rikus Botha’s dairy farm
On Wednesday, 10 October, the grade two learners went on an excursion to Mr Rikus Botha’s dairy farm. Upon arrival, we were treated to fresh milk and cupcakes. We then went to see how the cows were prepared for milking, and watched the whole process. The learners were able to see and touch some newborn calves. They also watched as the calves were bottle fed. We enjoyed a very educational day on the farm and want to extend our gratitude to everyone involved in our excursion and especially to Mrs Michelle Botha. She escorted us around the farm, sharing interesting facts about the dairy and how it all worked. Thank you! We had a wonderful morning.
