Cricket vs St. Monica’s and Creston College
This week was a busy one with regards to cricket. On Tuesday, 19 February our u7 - u9 mini cricket teams played against Focused. It was a fun afternoon and the u7 and u9 teams won their games, while the u8 team lost by 3 runs. Thank you to Focused for joining us. On Thursday, 21 February our mini cricket boys travelled to Kokstad to play against Kokstad Junior School. The u7 team won their match, while the u8's lost one and won one. The two u9 teams lost their matches. Thank you to KJS for an enjoyable afternoon. The boys had fun and learnt a lot. Then our u11s played a match against St Monica’s. King Edward won, scoring 93/3 as opposed to St. Monica’s 38/8 in 15 overs. Well done under 11s. Congratulations must also be extended to Zian Jacobs, the man of the match, with 40 runs and 5 wickets.
Last week, 9 February, KEHS’ u16 cricket played against Creston College. They won the toss and fielded first. KEHS batted very well making 152 for the loss on 9 wickets in 30 overs. The best batsman was Ethan Phizacklea with 41 runs. KEHS went into field with Creston College making 93 runs all out after 15 overs. The best bowler was Tyron Hayes with 3 wickets. KEHS won the match by 59 runs. Well done to the team on a great victory! On 22 February our u16s also played against Bergview. KEHS won the toss and batted first making 99 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. The best batsman was Ethan Phizacklea with 17 runs. KEHS then went into field bowling Bergview out for 17 after 7 overs. The best bowler was Tristan Phizacklea with 3 wickets. KEHS won the match by 83 runs. Well done to the boys!
