Senior Phase Production – 'Chaos in Court'
In a wonderful display of disciplined and structured disorder, our SP phase dazzled the community with their production 'Chaos in Court'. In five performances, audience members aged 6 to 90 roared with laughter as there was something in it for everyone.
Cinderella's “beautiful sisters” Marcelle Barnard and Mosa Tsoloane provided slapstick comic relief as well as some rather sophisticated illustration of English figures of speech. Inspector on Le Mark, a.k.a. Keegan La Marque brought the house down with his awkward pink panther gait and polished Pet Adventurer accent.
Who could forget the aggrieved big bad wolf, Matthew King, with his endearing arguments and antics?
Absent minded Judge, the highly talented Michael Hanley with the exceptional counsel, for the prosecution and defence, Zaldine van Wyhe and Sinalo Nyakambi brilliantly switched between English and Afrikaans. Goldilocks (Jocelyn Duminy) defended herself expertly in a “suitably pathetic” way while Shrek swept Fiona off her feet with his brilliant green body paint.
If total the 55 actors and actresses performed beyond all expectations while all 166 SP learners danced and sang with great enthusiasm. Even the headmaster faced a humiliating trial. Congratulations to the staff and cast on a truly memorable production.
