KEHS Sports Round-Up
It has been another excellent week for KEHS sport, with our teams achieving impressive results in various hockey, rugby, netball and chess fixtures.
Our hockey teams started strongly on 4 May against SMDS, with the U11 girls winning 13–0 and the U13 side securing an outstanding 8–0 victory. On the rugby field, our U11 boys beat Focused 36–0, while our netball teams also impressed with the U11 team winning 6–3 and the U13’s triumphing 10–6.

The annual EG Girls’ Hockey Challenge on 6 May proved to be fiercely competitive, with KC narrowly taking top honours with 17 points, SPC finishing on 16 and KEHS close behind on 14 points.
Our U13 netball girls then delivered one of the performances of the week, defeating SMDS 21–0. The high school chess teams also enjoyed successes against Focused, winning the overall fixture 21–20.
On 7 May, our junior netball teams faced Matat Primary School, with the U8 girls earning a hard-fought 2–1 win and the U9 girls losing 1–2 .
A major highlight came at the New Hanover Hockey Festival from 8–9 May, where our U11 and U13 girls excelled. The U11 side had a flawless tournament, winning all six matches without conceding a goal. The U13 girls also impressed, progressing to the semi-finals and ultimately finishing third overall after defeating Nottingham 1–0.
Our high school rugby teams continued the winning momentum on 9 May against Howick High School, with victories for the U14’s (28–14), U16’s (33–10) and 1st team (15–14). The high school netball teams were equally dominant against Khanya-Naledi, with the U16 girls winning 26–19 and the 1st team cruising to a 36–2 victory.
At the SPAR Regional Hockey Tournament on 9 May, our 1st hockey girls performed brilliantly, topping their pool after victories over Creston College, Scottburgh High and Mt Currie, with draws against KC and South City. They narrowly lost to SPC in the semi-final and finished third overall.

The KPS JP & SP Rugby and Hockey Festival also provided valuable experience for our junior teams, with several strong performances across both codes, including convincing wins for our U7 and U8 rugby sides and an excellent 36–0 victory for our U13 rugby team against Rivermead.
