KEHS Boys Hockey on fire

During the past two weeks King Edward High School’s JP and SP boys hockey teams took part in several tournaments and matches in the area.

On 24 August the u7 – u9 KEHS hockey boys played against St Patricks. The u7 A team lost 4-3, while the B team beat St Patricks 3-0. The u8 team won 3-0 and the u9’s lost 1-0.

On Saturday, 26 August, the u10 and u11 King Edward Boys Hockey teams took part in Kokstad Junior School’s u10 and u11 hockey tournament. It was a very enjoyable and well-organised event, with the boys playing excellent hockey. The u10 A team won 5 matches and lost 1, while the B team won 1 and lost 5. The u11 A team won 2, drew 3 and lost 1 match; the B team won 2, drew 2 and lost 1 match.

The u11 and u13 teams also played against St Patricks in Kokstad on Tuesday, 28 August. The u11 A team won their match 5-0 and the B team won the match with a last minute goal, ensuring a final score of 2-1. The u13 team beat St Patricks 8-0.

Last weekend the u9 to u13 King Edward boys hockey teams also participated in Lynford’s hockey festival. The u9 A team won both their games and the B team won 1 and lost the other match. The u10 A team won all three their matches and the B team won 1 and lost 2. The u11 A team won 2 and lost 1 match, while the B team won 2, drew 1 and lost 2 matches. The u13’s played 8-a-side matches. The A team won 2 and drew 1, while the B team drew 2 and won 1 match.
