KEHS Grade 3’s become (D)urban explorers
On 6 September a very excited group of King Edward High School Grade 3 learners boarded two buses and made the long trip to Durban for some exploring. Not only was this a highly enjoyable trip, but also quite educational.
At Mitchell Park the learners wandered through the lovely gardens and enjoyed learning about and observing the huge array of birds, monkeys, kangaroos and even tortoises. Thereafter they were taken on a lunch time cruise around Durban Harbour, experiencing the city from the waterside. The highlight of the tour was decidedly the Jump4Joy trampoline park! The learners were shown new physical exercises and skills by the trampoline park staff and made thorough use of their time there. After such an energetic day, it was only right to end the first day with a movie and some pizza.
On the second day the learners had the opportunity of a two and a half hour guided tour through uShaka Marine World. Here they marveled at sharks, fish and many other sea creatures. The tour ended off with a wonderful dolphin show – what a great memory to go home with!
