On the 5th of September the students of King Edward High School performed poems and songs for an interactive audience who thoroughly enjoyed snapping to poems about nature, made up creatures and world politics. The students used poems and songs to express their love for the arts and everyone who attended the evening enjoyed the talent that was showcased. We all look forward to next year’s poetry evening.
Our Grade 7s are currently on their annual tour through the Eastern and Western Cape province, visiting the Congo caves, Cano Wild, Tsitsikama Mouth, Mosselbay and many more exciting destinations. We wish them safe traveling mercies.
52 excited Grade threes left Matatiele early on Wednesday 4, September on their daytrip to the South Coast. Pure Venom, The Crocodile Farm and the Waffle House were all on the itinerary.
At the Crocodile Farm we learned about crocodiles and other reptiles. At Pure Venom we even got to hold an albino boa constrictor and learned all about snakes - venomous ones and not so venomous ones; and saw beautiful Puff adders and Cobras. We ended the day at the Waffle House - what a treat! Thank you to God, our teachers and drivers for an amazing day.
On both Friday and Saturday our SP hockey teams played their last games of the season. The players had a wonderful time and ended the season on a positive note!
On 28 August the excited Grade 5 class found themselves outside the classroom in the Ingeli Forest. They studied microclimate, natural vegetation and environmental issues. It was a most informative and pleasant hike.
